About Us

David Scott and Sarah Stoneham established Lone Oak Stud in 2007 to provide a boarding facility with an experienced professional team combining the latest science with the art of racehorse breeding and rearing. Our aim is to produce successful, sound, tough racehorses.

The stud derives its name from a stud in Zimbabwe that David managed in the 90’s, it became highly successful producing many winners in Africa. The stud no longer exists, but its spirit is rekindled at Lone Oak Stud in Newmarket.

Over the last 2 breeding seasons working together we have a 100% pregnancy rate with our client’s mares. We both have a “hands on” approach foaling all the mares ourselves. This allows rapid expert intervention at an early stage should any problem arise.

The stud offers boarding facilities for mares, foals and yearlings. We take mares, foals and yearlings for sales preparation. We are happy to accept horses resting and those convalescing from injury or surgery as we are able to offer continuous veterinary supervision. We offer special terms for permanent boarders.
